On April 1st 2008, Christian Johann Springer took over the company from his mother Margarethe Weixelbraun (formerly Springer).

The company now has three locations in Vienna and is still a synonym for living hunting tradition. Hunting rifles, hunting equipment and clothing as well as exclusive fashion lines represent the core competencies of the company. Many top products are also available in our online shop.

The company’s flagship store at Weihburggasse 27 in the heart of Vienna is a true hunters paradise.

Over three floors, luxury hunting weapons, top clothing brands and accessories from brands such as Purdey, Chrysalis and Holland & Holland are presented.

Timelessly elegant hunting clothing from renowned manufacturers in leather, tweed or loden meets waxed jackets and technical functional clothing here.

A successful hunt is a question of training: in addition to hunting and fashion, Joh. Springer’s Erben offers contemporary shooting and safety training in one of Austria’s most modern shooting cinemas.

At our historic Josefsgasse location, training for the Austrian gun licence courses are held as well as beginner and professional courses with handguns or long firearms.

Our workshop is also located here, where rifles and shotguns from our own production can be admired and ordered, as well as the mounting of new scopes and the maintenance and restoration of a large variety of weapons.

Springer’s wide-ranging offering of products and services for hunters is rounded off by its well-known auction house. Antique and modern firearms of all varieties for hunters, competition shooters or collectors as well as accessories and hunting art which we collect from all over the continent and beyond are examined and evaluated by internationally renowned experts.

With over 1,200 m², Joh. Springer’s Erben is one of the leading auction houses for hunting in Europe. And with approximately 5.000 lots in three auction cycles per annum (Spring, Summer and Autumn) we have quickly become established as one of the the largest auction houses for weapons and hunting related items based in Europe.

From September 2020 onwards, the product range was expanded to include the attractive categories Country Life and Offroad. Hunting art, furnishings, curiosities, 4×4 vehicles, quads, ski-doos or even old uniforms can be found additionally in the Classic Auctions.

In addition, a new feature is the open sale: for the extended assortment, an additional 300m² of space is available at the auction location (Kagraner Platz 9, 1220 Vienna) for collection and insertion in addition to the 1,200m² hall. Unsold lots can be purchased here at a sensationally low fixed price.
